Scrub Clearance – Swanpool Marsh Nature Reserve

Event Date: 19th January 2020, 10:00 – 15:00

Event Category: Volunteering Activity

Location: Swanpool Marsh – Braunton

Join some of Devon Wildlife Trust’s regular conservation volunteers as the bat project links with the group for this practical task at Swanpool Marsh nature reserve.  The activity will involve raking cut material to a fire site and burning it – helping to restore the site to a more open habitat which will be beneficial to foraging greater horseshoe bats.

People need to bring warm/waterproof clothes, gloves (if they have them), wellies, lunch and drinks for the day.

The meeting place is at the entrance to Swanpool Marsh DWT nature reserve (grid ref SS47323654), approx. 1 mile to the west of the centre of Braunton (off Moor Lane).

Cars can be parked near the site entrance, and depending on numbers we can park additional cars at the nearby farm.

If you’re not already a member of the group, you will need to confirm your booking by emailing bats@devonwildlifetrust.org.
