Established as a private reserve for the Cadbury family in 1950, the stunning Marland Valley is a Site of Special Scientific Interest boasting 190 hectares of woodland, wooded glades, coastal heath, streams and ponds. The reserve is exceptionally rich in wildlife including rare species such as Dormice, Otter, Pearl bordered Fritillary and Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary butterflies. Now run by the Devon Wildlife Trust, this quiet corner of the AONB is a truly special place to escape the everyday hustle and bustle and get back to nature.
