60th Anniversary Boundary Relay

North Devon Coast AONB 60th Anniversary Relay

This year is the 60th Anniversary of the North Devon Coast AONB designation and we are celebrating by trying to get as many people engaged and active with the North Devon coast as we can. To do we have organised a relay of the AONB boundary to showcase the beauty of the area we live and play in. We are looking for community groups, sports clubs, schools, businesses and individuals to “adopt” a section of the AONB boundary they wish to complete. They are being asked to choose the distance they want to cover, how long they take and how they wish to travel along it. Activites so far have included swimming, runnning, walking, paddle boarding, blow karting, traversing, surfing, litter picking and rock pool rambling!

The Relay is running throughout September and October 2019 and we would like as many people as possible to get involved. If you would like to join in please email laura.carolan@devon.gov.uk or give me a call on 01271 388628 if you have any questions.
