Join the Braunton Countryside Centre on their monthly family friendly walk to get to know the birds of Braunton.
No booking required. Just show up on the day.
A family-friendly walk along the Velator bank will be led by avid birder and wildlife enthusiast Andy Leat so that you may learn to know the birds of Braunton.
This week they will be meeting at the Velator Quay car park and heading along the river banks and out towards the estuary where there is the potential to see more wading birds.
The Velator bank is level and easy to walk on but does have a few large solid styles that need to climbed over. Because of this, this walk is suited for able adults and children at least 6 years old and older. But may not be that accessible for people who struggle with mobility, although there is the option to walk down and around the styles at some points.
There will be a chance to use a telescope or binoculars to get a closer look at our feathered residents.
Please wear sturdy walking shoes or trainers, dress appropriately for the weather with warm clothes and waterproofs. Some binoculars will be provided but feel free to bring your own.
