About The Presenter
Stephen Powles has always been passionate about wildlife and has taken an interest in wildlife photography from a young age. He has now stopped his career as a vet to dedicate himself to observing, photographing and filming wildlife. Most of his subjects are on his “doorstep”. His specialist interests are otters, tawny owls, hornets and the wildlife in and around his home. He has made four television appearances, three on The One Show and one on Hugh’s Wild West. Three of these were based on his local otters and most of the otter sequences used in the programmes were filmed by him. The fourth was on the hornets nesting in his bedroom!
