Chapel Woods (RSPB Reserve)

A classic, tranquil, broadleaf woodland which was donated to the RSPB in 1951. This woodland is rich in wildlife and includes the atmospheric ruins of a chapel dating back to1270 and an Iron Age Hillfort on the crest of the hill. Spring time will reward visitors with bluebells, and in autumn leaves provide a vivid show of colour. Throughout the year there’s always something to see in woodland like this.
