The North Devon Coast AONB is defined by its Special Qualities. These are what make our AONB so special. There are 14 Special Qualities and for each of these we have chosen a place within the AONB where you can see what we mean.

Special Quality 7 –  Long, broad sandy beaches backed by extensive dune systems.

Stretching between the headlands of Morte Point and Baggy point, Woolacombe sands is one of the most popular seaside destination in the in the South West. Its golden sands are backed by rare sand dune systems that are owned and managed by the National Trust.
